ACP submits evidence to The First 1000 Days Inquiry

The ACP has submitted evidence to the Health and Social Care Committee Inquiry into the First 1000 Days of Life. Members of the ACP working in this crucial area provided an excellent resource of information about the contribution that child psychotherapists are making to improving services during the period from conception to age 2.

The ACP submitted a number of recommendation in relation to national policy and funding and also in relation to local service delivery and workforce development. We stressed the need for a national strategy from conception to age 2 that enables joined-up strategy and investment which encompasses universal services for all families and also recognises the need for specialist services appropriate to the complex challenges faced in providing services to the most vulnerable families.
