Director of Finance

Children’s mental health is more important now than it has ever been, with rising numbers of young people developing significant mental health problems. The Association of Child Psychotherapy are a committed team of individuals who believe that every child should have access to specialist, highly skilled psychotherapists, irrespective of age, gender, or other protected characteristic. We are hence looking for a suitably experienced Director of Finance who can continue to help our organisation thrive and our membership of child psychotherapists to grow.

WHO WE ARE

The Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) is the professional body for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists in the UK. It is an Accredited Register of the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and is responsible for regulating the training and practice standards of child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapy across the NHS, third and private sectors. It was established in 1949 and has over 1,100 members working in the UK and abroad.

The Director of Finance is an executive director of the ACP, and a key member of the executive team and the Board of Directors

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

This is an ideal role for those wanting to make a difference in our society and could bring their skills and experience to ensuring financial sustainability of an organisation committed to improving child mental health.

Many of the day-to-day finance processes are delegated to the CEO, Business Manager and external consultants, therefore freeing up the Director of Finance to focus on: identifying and managing any financial and resource risks to the organisation; financial oversight of the ACP; working with the CEO, Business Manager and Chair on strategic planning of ACP’s finances; income generation and reporting to the Board. An Executive Assistant will also provide administrative support.

We are a relatively small organisation which enables us to engender a supportive and collaborative working community, whereby individuals feel valued and fully engaged in our collective vision.

TIME COMMITMENT & REMUNERATION

Salary: £ 61,958.3 (pro rata 14 hours/month £6,195.83 a year)
Hours: Part-time: 3.5 hours per week
Pension: 6% employer contribution
