On the 20 February 2018, the ACP wrote to all Members of Parliament on behalf of all our members to inform them of the launch of the campaign, Treat Them Right.
Treat Them Right calls for all child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) to have access to an ACP registered child psychotherapist, so that every child who needs it can benefit from their skills, expertise and experience. The Association has asked the government to guarantee funding for the future training and commissioning of child psychotherapists within CAMHS so that specialised support is protected. The NHS funded training of ACP registered child psychotherapists is subject to review by Health Education England and we are concerned that changes may severely impact access to training and hence to the provision of the services for children and young people.
