Work Discussion Groups

The ACP set up supervision groups for supervisors at the beginning of lockdown to help think about the move to remote working.

Some of these groups have continued since then and offer a space for members to reflect on their experience of supervising. We are now advertising for new members to join these groups. These are called Work Discussion Groups for Supervisors to reflect the range of work that supervisors might want to bring and to be clear that these groups do not take the place of regular supervision. These groups are open to all members of the ACP who supervise qualified ACP members.

The ACP has also decided to offer this model of learning to members who are not supervisors or for whom supervision is a very small part of their role. These groups are also called work discussion groups and are a space for members to think about their clinical work and/or their role in their team, Trust or as a child psychotherapist in independent practice. These groups are open to all newly qualified and full members of the ACP.

All groups also offer the opportunity to get to know the work of other child psychotherapists from across the UK and from different training schools.

The groups run monthly from October 2022 – July 2023. There is a charge for attending the groups and the group facilitators will also be paid.

The cost to those attending will be £250 (£25 per session).
