 >\n <p>The ACP is pleased to introduce a refreshed
  Safeguarding Level 3 training programme for 2026\
 , developed with a new trainer and updated content
  to reflect current legislation\, guidance and eme
 rging safeguarding risks.</p>\n \n <p>As a conditi
 on of ACP membership\, members are required to com
 plete Safeguarding Level 3 training every three ye
 ars. This advanced course is designed specifically
  for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists and oth
 ers working therapeutically with children\, young 
 people and families. This interactive and practica
 l learning also includes a Safeguarding workbook\,
  containing course exercises\, statutory reference
 s\, record-keeping templates and practical resourc
 es to support safeguarding practice long after the
  training day.</p>\n \n <p><u><strong>Course highl
 ights</strong></u></p>\n \n <p>The programme will 
 help delegates to:</p>\n \n <ul>\n 	<li>Understand
  current safeguarding legislation and guidance\, i
 ncluding the Children Acts\, Working Together to S
 afeguard Children\, the Domestic Abuse Act and the
  Prevent Duty.</li>\n 	<li>Recognise and respond t
 o safeguarding concerns\, including neglect\, abus
 e\, exploitation\, harmful sexual behaviours and c
 ontextual safeguarding risks.</li>\n 	<li>Address 
 emerging online harms\, such as grooming\, sextort
 ion\, AI-generated abuse material and deepfakes.</
 li>\n 	<li>Respond confidently to disclosures and 
 understand information-sharing and referral proces
 ses.</li>\n 	<li>Strengthen multi-agency working w
 ith social care\, education\, health and other saf
 eguarding partners.</li>\n 	<li>Develop profession
 al curiosity\, reflective practice and resilience 
 when managing complex safeguarding situations.</li

 ut the Trainer - Penny Earney</strong></u></p>\n \
 n <p>Over the last 40 years\, Penny has experience
  of working with adults\, families and vulnerable 
 children\, both clinically and strategically withi
 n public health\, building a wealth of expertise\,
  competencies\, knowledge and skills.</p>\n \n <p>
 Penny&rsquo\;s experience of working as a NHS Desi
 gnated Nurse\, through Safeguarding Partnerships\,
  Commissioning and Corporate Parenting Boards\, ha
 s developed a passion and focus to be able to scru
 tinise quality assurance\, within the constant cha
 llenging and changing landscape of complex vulnera
 bility for adults\, children and families.</p>\n \
 n <p>She has worked within a wide crossover of spe
 cialities and disciplines from early years as a he
 alth visitor in public health through to children 
 in care and safeguarding\, within the NHS\, social
  care\, education and the wider voluntary and priv
 ate sector. Penny&rsquo\;s previous experience inc
 luding working with children with SEND and SLCN&rs
 quo\;s in understanding the need for robust proces
 ses to access support through the correct service 
 at the right time.</p>\n \n <p>Penny has worked in
  the field of care experience children and adolesc
 ent both as a specialist CiC practitioner and desi
 gnate. This has involved working with therapeutic 
 services jointly to ensure the child&rsquo\;s prev
 ious trauma is fully understood\, so that the righ
 t practitioner at the right time could deliver imp
 actful trauma informed therapy\, with the child or
  young person. This also included working with par
 ents/kindship arrangements and foster carers and a
 doption placements. Penny has also been actively i
 nvolved in providing independent safeguarding supe
 rvision for CAMHS and supporting reviews for serio
 us case reviews where therapeutic services have be
 en involved in child&rsquo\;s journey. In addition
 \, Penny has been involved with young people requi
 ring transition from community therapeutic service
  to specialist tier 4 mental health provision\, an
 d then in the step-down process to ensure smooth t
 ransition back into ongoing community therapeutic 
 services\, often being into adult community servic
 es.</p>\n \n <p>Following retirement from her subs
 tantive NHS role\, Penny is now working as an inde
 pendent specialist health practitioner\, continuin
 g her passion for improving and sustaining effecti
 ve service delivery\, by supporting NHS managers a
 nd practitioners working with vulnerable adults\,
