  Care Experienced Young People\, and adopted child
 ren have long inspired the work of Child Psychothe
 rapists. Their experiences - and those of their fa
 milies\, foster carers\, and professional networks
  - are rich\, complex\, and often deeply traumatic
 . Yet\, in recent years\, fewer forums explore the
 se children and families in depth. This conference
  provides a dedicated space to do just that.</span
 ></p>\n \n <p><span style="font-family:Arial\,Helv
 etica\,sans-serif\;">Recent changes in the care sy
 stem - shaped by the Munro Report\, cuts to counci
 l funding\, and evolving patterns of permanency\, 
 fostering\, kinship\, and Special Guardianship - h
 ave added new layers of complexity to the lives of
  these children and the adults who care for them. 
 Despite shifts in the system\, the challenges rema
 in profound: enduring distress\, intergenerational
  trauma\, strained professional dynamics\, and the
  testing of adult capacities to meet their mental 
 and emotional needs.</span></p>\n \n <p><span styl
 e="font-family:Arial\,Helvetica\,sans-serif\;">The
 se children often carry feelings of loneliness\, c
 onfusion about identity\, and a sense of being out
 siders. In adolescence\, they are particularly vul
 nerable to exploitation\, and the effects of early
  trauma continue into adulthood\, influencing ment
 al health\, education\, employment\, and social be
 longing. Their experiences also deeply affect fost
 er\, adoptive\, and kinship families\, residential
  homes\, schools\, and workplaces.</span></p>\n \n
  <p><span style="font-family:Arial\,Helvetica\,san
 s-serif\;">The growing presence of unaccompanied m
 inors and asylum-seeking young people adds urgent 
 new dimensions to this work. These children may ha
 ve survived trafficking\, war\, torture\, or aband
 onment\, and they require extraordinary psychologi
 cal support to process dislocation\, grief\, and l
 oss - often in a social climate marked by hostilit
 y toward migrants.</span></p>\n \n <p><span style=

 oung People\, and adopted children have long inspi
 red the work of Child Psychotherapists. Their expe
 riences - and those of their families\, foster car
 ers\, and professional networks - are rich\, compl
 ex\, and often deeply traumatic. Yet\, in recent y
 ears\, fewer forums explore these children and fam
 ilies in depth. This conference provides a dedicat
 ed space to do just that.\n \n \n \n Recent change
 s in the care system - shaped by the Munro Report\
 , cuts to council funding\, and evolving patterns 
 of permanency\, fostering\, kinship\, and Special 
 Guardianship - have added new layers of complexity
  to the lives of these children and the adults who
  care for them. Despite shifts in the system\, the
  challenges remain profound: enduring distress\, i
 ntergenerational trauma\, strained professional dy
 namics\, and the testing of adult capacities to me
 et their mental and emotional needs.\n \n \n \n Th
 ese children often carry feelings of loneliness\, 
 confusion about identity\, and a sense of being ou
 tsiders. In adolescence\, they are particularly vu
 lnerable to exploitation\, and the effects of earl
 y trauma continue into adulthood\, influencing men
 tal health\, education\, employment\, and social b
 elonging. Their experiences also deeply affect fos
 ter\, adoptive\, and kinship families\, residentia
 l homes\, schools\, and workplaces.\n \n \n \n The
  growing presence of unaccompanied minors and asyl
 um-seeking young people adds urgent new dimensions
  to this work. These children may have survived tr
 afficking\, war\, torture\, or abandonment\, and t
 hey require extraordinary psychological support to
  process dislocation\, grief\, and loss - often in
  a social climate marked by hostility toward migra
 nts.\n \n \n \n This conference is a vital opportu
 nity for ACP Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists t
 o come together\, reflect\, and deepen their under
 standing of these vulnerable children\, their fami
 lies\, and the networks that support them.\n \n \n
