Personal Statement: I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with over 19 years’ experience of working therapeutically with children, young people and families in the National Health Services Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. I am experienced in working therapeutically with children and young people aged from 0-25 with a range of difficulties. These include more moderate mental health difficulties e.g. low mood, anger issues, anxiety, sleep difficulties to more serious difficulties including depression, serious problems with aggression, insomnia and eating disorders. It also includes difficulties with behaviour ranging from sleeping difficulties to eating problems. I specialise in working with children and young people who have suffered developmental trauma and who are in the care system.
For a number of years, I have had a small private practice which I operate from a comfortable therapeutic space in the Claines/Barbourne area of Worcester.
I have provided clinical supervision for other clinicians working with children for many years including psychologists, social workers, counsellors and trained and training child psychotherapists. I am trained and experienced in providing consultation to organisations including schools, children’s centres, children’s homes and adoption and fostering social workers and am a psychological consultant to the Family Nurse Partnership.
I trained in Birmingham at the Birmingham School of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I am a full member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
