Application Information for the post of Events and Development Manager

 
The Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) has a vacancy for a part-time Events and Development Manager.
 
The organization is at an exciting stage of development and the post holder will play a key role in organizing events and helping to build the ACP’s profile and influence, as well as supporting the work of ACP’s partner, the Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the NHS (APP). Reporting to the Director of Scientific Development and to the Board, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the scientific development of the organization through organizing events, in conjunction with the programme planning group, a sub-group of the scientific development committee, and also in promoting psychoanalytic thinking about children and young people in events for the public.
 
It is anticipated that the post-holder will also work closely with the Director of Communications and members to be able to ensure that the ACP is contributing to debates about mental health policy for children and young people and that psychoanalytic psychotherapy is promoted as an important and effective way of working with children and families both to the general public and to key people in government and healthcare settings.
 
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and organised individual, with some previous events management experience, excellent communication skills, a sensitive and friendly manner in dealing with both the public and members of the association, a basic understanding of and belief in the value of psychoanalytic thinking and a capacity to work autonomously. Because of the sensitive nature of some of the work, the successful applicant will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
 
The person appointed will work primarily for the ACP but from time to time may be asked to provide events support for the APP. S/he will be working in an office alongside professional and friendly colleagues and will also liaise with Directors and other members of the organization.    
 
A salary of £34,000 to £38,000 pro rata per annum, depending on experience, is offered with a 6% employer pension contribution; 35 hours a week; annual leave is 28 days a year, plus bank and other statutory holidays. This post is part-time (3 to 4 days per week).
