As well as being the ACP Media and Comms Lead, Alison Roy is lead child and adolescent psychotherapist in East Sussex Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and is clinical lead for the new CAMHS adoption service (AdCAMHS). Her specialist areas are adopted children, young people and their families, parent-infant work and groups.
Before training as a child psychotherapist, Alison was an artist and arts journalist. She ran groups for homeless young people involved in crime and drug use and founded a youth magazine, a theatre group and wrote a community diploma in creative and performance arts. She was the founder and director of Generation Arts Project, which brought together disenfranchised young people caught up in gang culture.
